THE OFFICE (2005-????)Due to Youtube regulations, we can only show a 5 second clip of each show before those PINHEADS shut us down. Thankfully, our video team has picked some of the most meaningful 5 second moments in each show's history. Mark Riddles: Grass is green, the sky is blue, and there is no way in hell this show is better than the UK show. You've heard it all before. I know this. Yet the thing about remaking The Office is that it was basically trying to remake a horror movie. That being said, it is worth watching for the peripheral characters. They do a fantastic job and always seem to outshine the headliners of that show, and not in a Steve Urkel or Jimmy Jay Jay Walker kind of way either. I've taken a Writing for Television class where we had to write a half-hour spec script for a show that was currently on that year. In a class of twelve, SEVEN did The Office. We had to do a read- through of one of them. The premise: Michael has an American Idol contest and makes all the employees compete. There was no story structure at all. It was just one employee after another coming in and singing a song poorly while Steve Carrell makes fun of them in a British accent. That was the whole script. When the teacher suggested that he should have a b-plot at the very least, he remarked, "eh, I throw in some Jim and Pam crap," and smiled like an arrogant jerk. So look out for the American Idol episode of Two and a Half Men. Jixby Phillips (ranked it 15): Did I really rank this one lower than the British Office? It really needs to be much, MUCH lower. Did I make this list during Season 2 or something? Sheesh! Look, I like this show a lot. But it’s sorta lame, right? Can we all admit that? I once broke down the Seasons like this: Season One: Hey... this isn’t so bad!
(as of this writing, Season Five is in progress.) I post at a forum where people get MAD MAD MAD at this show. I think it’s silly. Really, this show is worth getting worked up about? Remember when Steve Carrell drove into a lake? Everyone flipped their fucking lids. As a person who fights the urge to drive into a lake every day, I didn’t think it was SO unrealistic. It’s a good show if you don’t let it all the way into your heart. I got into it just because I had gone on yet another Office U.K. kick and I decided to give the American version another shot. I just wanted there to be more Office. I had seen the pilot on TV previously and was really disappointed by it, because I like Steve Carrell and I like Greg Daniels track record. So I rented Season one and two and for a brief moment in time I REALLY loved it. There are good character-driven jokes on this show, and I like that kind of comedy. And I actually like the atmosphere. I’d love to work in the actual office in the show. It’s nice and comforting. But the characters will never make me feel anything, ever. I almost cared about Jim and Pam in season 2, which is easily the best season of the show. But when they kissed I just didn’t give a shit. COMMENTS FROM THE PEANUT GALLERY

IMDB TRIVIA (found by Mr. Adventure!)The US broadcast of The Office has an entire team dedicated to fielding phone complaints regarding Steve Carell's behavior. Somebody who was a fan of our fan fiction excerpts sent us a sneak peek of their Office fan fiction called “Creed’s Show.” We will put up a link when it’s finished, but in the meantime here's that sneak peek: CREEDS SHOW: A FANFICTON BY SOMERSAULTFAN1989 SYNOPSIS: Creed does a somersault out of a garbage can and continues to somersault down the street and into a bus (right on time). He continues to somersault up and down the aisle until he gets to work. When the coast is no longer clear (Dwight's lurking around securing the perimeter) Creed stands up and walks like a man, he can't have anyone know RATED: X for hate speech (my personal views) and also because it's revealed creed is sucking his dick the entire time just like me WHERE TO WATCH THE OFFICEIt's on NBC Thursday Nights. And it's all over TBS. And you can get them on DVD. There's all kinds of deleted scenes and stuff that make it all worth it.
