Comics After 9-11
by Jixby Phillips

Today I was thinking "Jesus, I should have saved the comics page from the first newspaper that was printed after September 11." Just think of it, Many severely unfunny sappy comics all in one place. First I tried garfield and I looked at the september 11 comic, just to see if there were any weird coincidences:

Garfield and Jon, enjoying a reletively carefree Tuesday. Since the fictional universe of Garfield is a day behind, they have no idea of the tragedy that would occour later that very morning. Lets check in with them after the news has most definatly hit them:

What the FUCK? Don't these faggots read the news? And does Garfield REALLY think he's going to be able to mail that package that easily? And wouldn't he have heard something about what had happened at the post office? Maybe news is just slow for them... lets continue:

STILL TALKING ABOUT MS FEENEY??? DON'T YOU FUCKERS KNOW YOUR COUNTRY IS DYING???

The first panel made me think perhaps the cartoon version of the World Trade Center was finally crumbling before them, hence the sound effects and such. But when I went to the next panel in hopes of their finally realizing that there is a serious problem on our country's hands, I was shocked to see that there was still no mention of our war on terrorism. Just Ms Feeney!!

Have the terrorists allready won in Jim Davis' mind?

I had hoped that an important character like Garfield would adress the nation about the things that happened on September 11, but NO! We had to hear from George Bush's SON, and Julia Roberts, etc. Since there was nothing for me to see, I decided to flashback to an innocent time, and read some garfields from before we were ever attacked. I decided to start with September 10, and work back.

So I looked at the comic and... wait a second... They DID get the news of the attacks that tuesday. They weren't surprised because...

THEY KNEW IT WOULD HAPPEN!!! OMG!!

THE END... FOR AMERICA!
