The World Wants Me To Kill Myself
I am pissed off right now. I am pissed off at Adult Swim. I am pissed off at anime. I am pissed off at IGN.
FIRST, why I am pissed off at IGN. A webpage known as IGN Filmforce, approximately one month ago on June 6 2003 printed this. The article is a sneak peek at an interview IGN Filmforce did with Cartoon Network executive Mike Lazzo, an interview which mentions, among other things, the only thing I care about: Space Ghost Coast to Coast on DVD. They mention that the full interview will be printed in early July. WELL GUESS WHAT TODAY IS. That's right, it's early July. After spending the past month counting the minutes until they print the interview and possibly reveal a few more details on the Space Ghost DVDs, they print the interview. I should be ecstatic. But there is one small problem with this interview: It's fucking bullshit. The dickbag from IGN talks to Mike Lazzo about how awesome Cartoon Network used to be, but they say it like it's bad to be awesome. They say shit like that Cartoon Network was "basically just the Hanna-Barbara rerun channel..." WHAT THE FUCK??? Cartoon Network kicked more ass when it played nothing but Hanna-Barbera cartoons than it does now or ever will. Reading the interview makes me think about how awesome Cartoon Network used to be and how shitty it is now, and that pisses me off. Then, at the end of the article, they say: "Check back tomorrow for the second installment of Ken's conversation with Mike Lazzo in which Lazzo discusses the original Space Ghost: Coast to Coast pilot, finding Space Ghost's pacing and voice, the plan for SG DVDs, and more." Why didn't they just print the entire interview tomorrow??? Now I'm going to spend the entire today tearing out my hair waiting for tomorrow.
Another reason I am pissed off: Today is the day that Adult Swim starts airing another cockfuck anime, Big O. In August, Big O will be put on Sundays at 11, taking away ANOTHER half hour of Adult Swim comedy. But that's not why I'm pissed off. I am pissed off because I have just realized that Adult Swim will be playing Big O uncut... and they edit Space Ghost. Let that sink in for a while. I swear I'm going to kill myself.
